10 Tips To A Better Night’s Sleep

How are you sleeping? Are some days great and others not so good? Getting a good night’s sleep is one of the best things you can do for your overall health. Here are some of the natural ways I combat the issue of a sleepless night.How well are you sleeping?

  1. Exercise! Regular physical activity can promote a better night sleep, but be careful not to exercise close to your bedtime, you may find you are to energized to fall asleep. There is a reason exercise is at the top of my list. In my experience regular activity is the best medicine for a good night’s sleep
  2. Turn off the electronics. The light from your electronic devices will promote wakefulness.
  3. Camomile tea one hour before bedtime can help to calm your mind.
  4. Avoid caffeine. Caffeine will keep you awake because it changes the natural chemistry of your brain and blocks the action of the natural brain chemical associated with sleep.
  5. Lavender essential oil can be used to help you sleep better and reduce stress. Rub a few drops on the bottom of your feet or diffuse the oil in your bedroom at night to promote sleep.
  6. Stick to a sleep schedule. Go to bed and wake up the same everyday.
  7. Come up with a bedtime routine. Sticking to the same routine every night will tell your body it’s time to go to sleep.
  8. Reading always helps me to fall asleep as long as I’m not reading a book that I can’t put down! Listening to music can also help to calm your mind.
  9. Meditation and deep breathing. Feeling stressed? Meditation can help to quiet your mind when it’s in overdrive.
  10. A good mattress and pillow are a must. The investment in a quality mattress and pillow can make a great difference in the quality of sleep you get.

If these tips are still not doing the trick don’t waste anymore time and get in touch with your doctor. You could have an underlying health condition that is preventing your good night sleep.
